FAQ

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create a natural brow. (Not recommended for oily skin) A manual tool is used to create small hair-like strokes to reflect the illusion of brow hairs. A touch-up is recommended for optimal results and should be done within 4-6wks of the initial appointment.

What are ombré brows?

Ombré brows are a semi-permanent tattoo and is one of the hottest trends right now. It is waterproof, smudge-proof and creates a soft makeup look.  It is great for all skin types and helps to create density in the brows. A touch-up is recommended for optimal results and should be done within 4-6wks of the initial appointment.

Is it painful?

Pain tolerance varies from person to person, however, to ensure minimal pain, an anesthetic cream is applied to the area prior to the procedure. Most of my clients fall asleep during the service.

How long do they last?

After the initial procedure and your touch-up appointment, your brows will last 1-3 years depending on your skin type, aftercare, and daily activities. Always apply sunblock on your brows to prevent them from fading.

What is the healing process like?

The day after your procedure your brows will appear darker, but trust the process! The following few days are the hardest part as your brows enter the healing process - you will experience itchiness and be tempted to scratch but please refrain from touching the area as the skin begins to heal. Picking or scratching off the scabs could affect the final results because you are essentially pulling off the pigment. To soothe the irritated area, apply the vitamin A & D ointment in your care package. As the scabs begin to fall off on their own, you will see your perfect brows begin to take shape!

What will my brows look like after?

Immediately after the procedure, your brows will look darker than expected and the skin may appear red and swollen. As the days go on they will start to scab and lighten by 30-40% once healed. Do not pick or pull on the scabs. Let them fall off on it's own.

How do I get my brows to last long?

A touch-up is required 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment to define and sharpen the shape and colour. Practicing good aftercare will help increase the longevity of your brows. Factors that will fade your brows include: tanning bed/sun exposure, exfoliating, oily skin, and medical conditions.

What do I do after my procedure?

Avoid makeup until they are fully healed and most importantly, do not pick at your scabs no matter how itchy they get! Follow the aftercare thats provided. Gently clean the brows daily and pat dry with a clean towel. Put a small amount of ointment to help with the itchiness until they fully heal.
